Celebrate Earth Day with a Walk in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve near St. George, UT

The Red Cliffs Desert Reserve in southwest Utah marks the collision of three geographic systems; the Great Basin, Mojave Desert and Colorado Plateau. The Reserve was set aside to maintain the unique and diverse plant and wildlife in this area.

Each April, desert flowers, scattered in arroyos and throughout the area bloom in an explosion of color. Enjoy.

Lichen covered rocks and petrified wood are also easily found in the area.

Camping is available at the Red Cliffs campground near Leeds, UT but reservations are suggested in the spring time. Also try camping at nearby Quail Creek Lake. Sand Hollow State park offers addition camping and recreation about 8 miles away. Pack the Grub Hub camp kitchen and get out there!

Grub Hub Camp Kitchen Uses

The ultra-portable Grub Hub is designed, developed, tested, and used by people that spend a lot of time outdoors. It is the perfect outdoor kitchen for just about anyone camping just about anywhere.

Whether camping out for one night or multiple weeks, the Grub Hub camp kitchen's features and portability make camping easy. It completely manages all camp kitchen gear making it much easier and faster to prepare for the trip. On arrival, the Grub Hub unfolds to become the campsite "hub" in just 2-3 minutes!

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy their time  hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, photographing, canoeing, kayaking, kite boarding, surfing, rock climbing and exploring the outdoors - instead of organizing the kitchen scene. From Maine to Moab to Cabo the Grub Hub makes it easier for enthusiasts to enjoy their outdoor sports.

For families the Grub Hub provides the features to make cooking outdoors and cleaning up very easy while enjoying real food instead of "add water" meals or basic grilled items.  Keeping the family sustainably fueled for outdoor fun means preparing real meals easily and efficiently.
Score big with the ultimate tailgating kitchen! With everything stored and organized in the Grub Hub it is easily hauled to the game and sets up in seconds. The Grub Hub instantly has new fans wowing about its ability to help organize any game-side feast.
Scouts and scout leaders greatly appreciate the portability and organization provided by the Grub Hub. 6-8 scouts can make a Grub Hub theirs during each campout and learn to live sustainably outdoors.

Music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Sasquatch, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Outside Lands, and Burning Man are all about camping. Having a Grub Hub makes festival campouts much easier more fun. Many venues require transporting gear from auto to campsite, a chore made easy by the Grub Hub's built-in wheels.
The Grub Hub is ideally suited for boat camping. Dory, raft and motorboat camping are made easier by taking one compact unit that organizes and stores all gear then quickly unfolds to make a complete kitchen.

Guides and outfitters going deep into the mountains by horse or bush plane appreciate the Grub Hub's compact footprint. It fits into small plane cargo holds and into standard horse panniers. At the same time it provides work space and features to support outdoor kitchen needs of 2-8 people.
Overlanders, offroaders and ATV travelers immediately appreciate the Grub Hub because it is a self contained, compact, single unit that reduces space in their vehicle. It replaces outdoor tables, stands, boxes and totes that would otherwise be needed for the same functionalities such as lighting stand, work tables, sink, storage cabinet, dish organizers, etc.

Gold Buttes Little Finlandia

The weekend of April 1st was spent camping with friends in the Gold Buttes region called Little Finlandia. This area offers a plethora of extremely delicate sandstone formations as well as nearby petroglyphs left by the Anasazi and other early Americans.

This place is billed as being about 70 miles from Las Vegas but that is "as the crow flies". Driving is about 2-3 hours travel south of Mesquite, Nevada or about 4 hours from Las Vegas, depending on how many photo  stops you make before even getting to this interesting area.

More scenery includes the local springs, 100 year old palm trees and a few mean looking bulls keeping watch on the area. If parking at the base of the cliffs in the Little Finlandia area, camping is open and provides little shelter from desert elements such as the sun and windstorms. More Pics -

While we drove campers down there, the Grub Hub made the perfect group camp kitchen to enjoy time together.

Gold Buttes, Nevada - Grub Hub Mini Adventure

The Gold Buttes region, a new candidate for wilderness designation located just east of Lake Mead, Nevada was the target of our back country travels. Over a three day weekend we were looking forward to hiking and exploring the Colorado River where the free flowing waters of the Grand Canyon meet Lake Mead.

Dragging our new tent trailer behind the Jeep started off easy, but went slower than expected on the heavily wash-boarded dirt road. As afternoon turned into evening, we crawled over the top of a pass looking down into the Colorado River more than 4000 feet below and my wife reminded me once again it would soon be dark. The “ruggedized” trailer was already missing some paint from the overgrown brush along the rarely used and washed out road. I secretly kept my fingers crossed we wouldn’t blow a tire on the jagged granite rocks strewn along the road. Both of us repeatedly peered at the hillside below dropping sharply into the canyon on the right side of the vehicle but refrained from amplifying the tension by commenting. For the last five slow miles we had considered going back but as the road became entrenched in a narrow gully and then exposed on the steep hillside there was no turning around.

The desert mountain air cooled as the early March day faded quickly into darkness. Turning on the headlights made it official we were on a real adventure. My wife was a trooper and joked that when we got to camp she would set up the Grub Hub®, feed the dogs, and make dinner while I did the real work unfurling the tent trailer. I added that it was a calm, warm evening and the stars would be spectacular in the desert that night.

Jolted by yet another chunk of granite I refused to voice the uncertainty of us making it another 100 yards, much less traversing the 2-3 miles of rocks, deep sand, and possibly washed-out gully that I guessed were still ahead….

Make Music Festival Camping Easy With the Grub Hub Camp Kitchen

Packing for a music festival starts out easy. Tent, sleeping bags, pads.

It would be a breeze if it weren't for the kitchen! Bags and boxes and lots of things to forget. Spoons, spatulas, spices, pots, pans, dishes, bottle opener, matches, cooking oil, paper towels- the list goes on. And that's only the little stuff. Don't forget the camp table, camp stove, and some way to hang the lantern. And last but not least, how about the kitchen sink?

The Grub Hub camp kitchen allows storage of everything above and includes tables and the kitchen sink. It allows easy access to everything, even in transport mode. The Grub Hub camp kitchen also provides a tower for hanging the lantern and suspending gravity fed water.

Keep your Grub Hub camp kitchen ready for use in the garage then easily roll it to the car. Find the best campsite and roll the Grub Hub camp kitchen into place. It holds everything and eliminates much of the effort of preparing for camping. Visit http://www.grubhubusa.com for more details.
